A photograph of this structure was in the Town of Farmington, Ontario County folder in the Cobblestone Museum archives. A map check revealed the structure was actually located in the Town of Canandaigua.
The following statements were shared by several knowledgeable people who reviewed the photograph and limited known documentation:
"While some areas show stones in a horizontal pattern, I don't see the strong lines found in "true" cobblestone construction. There doesn't seem to be the careful matching of stone sizes either. I would simply call this a field stone house. (Erin Anheier)"

"This doesn't meet the general criteria for an authentic cobblestone structure - horizontal rows, definite mortar joints, quoins or pilasters in the corners. However, this fieldstone structure is undoubtedly of the same vintage. (Karen Crandall)".
It is possible that the structure was Schoolhouse No. 15; however, the current location of this structure and the 1859 map location of the schoolhouse do not exactly coincide.
